Colorful Fun and Community Spirit Shine at Autism Color Run

Fundraiser supports Autism Society of Southern Illinois with mile-long course, color throws, and family activities
John A. Logan College hosted its Autism Color Run on Saturday, April 12, bringing community members together to run or walk a mile around campus while being doused in colorful powder along the route.
The event served as a fundraiser for the Autism Society of Southern Illinois. Volunteers included members of the retired Illinois police and fire motorcycle club, the Renegade Pigs, who volunteered at the event and joined in by tossing powder on participants.
Volunteer Angie Davis said her favorite part was “looking at the little kids smile.”
The day also featured bounce houses for children, a variety of food trucks and a final celebratory color throw to close out the event.
