A Symphony in a Galaxy Not So Far Away

John A. Logan College’s Spring Band and Orchestra Concert celebrated May the Fourth with a Star Wars–inspired program featuring volunteer musicians from campus and the community.
John A. Logan College hosted the Spring Band and Orchestra Concert May 4 at 2 p.m. in the Conference Center. The event honored the unofficial Star Wars holiday “May the Fourth” by including several songs from the film series in the program.
The concert was divided into two sections. The orchestra, conducted by Bob Swearingen, performed during the first half, followed by a brief intermission. The band, conducted by Dannyel Norrington, played the second half.
Both groups are made up of volunteers from the college and community who perform at college and civic events.
