John A. Logan College’s bats came alive in a 13-7 win over Wabash Valley College Thursday, with outfielder Trey Swiderski leading the charge with a grand slam in the first inning. Swiderski finished 4-for-5 at the plate.
The Vols wasted no time, scoring four runs in the first inning and adding runs in five of the first eight innings.
Wabash Valley kept things close early, powered by three home runs from AJ Malzone, Jack Scheri, and Ean Czech.
The victory pushes John A. Logan’s record to 43-7 overall and 23-2 in conference play, with an .860 winning percentage. The Vols have now won 11 straight games and hold a dominant 22-1 record at home, 14-3 on the road, and 7-3 at neutral sites.
