Vols Crush Rend Lake with Late-Inning Barrage

Jaden Correa and Cruz Harlan combined for six RBIs as John A. Logan College rolled to a 12–1 mercy-rule win Thursday. Taylor Waldron stayed perfect on the mound, moving to 8–0 as the Vols improved to 45–8.
John A. Logan College continued its strong season Thursday with a 12–1 win over Rend Lake College, improving to 45–8 overall and 24–3 in conference play.
Shortstop Jaden Correa led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Cruz Harlan added two doubles and also drove in three. The Vols put up nine runs across the sixth and seventh innings to seal the mercy-rule win.
Taylor Waldron moved to 8–0 on the season, striking out eight over six innings of one-run ball. Nehemiah Goodman pitched a scoreless seventh in relief.
Logan now sits at 23–1 at home, 15–4 away, and 7–3 at neutral sites. The Volunteers return to action Friday, May 2, with a rematch at Rend Lake College in Ina. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
