Winners: Roberts, Colombo, Stanfield Lead in Carbondale City Council Race

Current results show John A. Logan College professor Brian Stanfield among top vote-getters as supporters celebrate at Buckwater Brew Works

CARBONDALE, Ill. (April 2, 2025)According to the latest available election results, Dawn Roberts, Nathan Colombo, and Brian Stanfield are leading in the race for the three open seats on the Carbondale City Council. Roberts has secured 917 votes (21.40%), Colombo has 780 votes (18.20%), and Stanfield has 748 votes (17.46%). Other candidates, including Lee M. Fronabarger (666 votes), Jason M. Endicott (547 votes), Ginger Rye-Sanders (320 votes), and LaCaje Hill (307 votes), have not garnered enough votes to be in the top three.

A campaign celebration took place at Buckwater Brew Works & Whiskey House in Carbondale, where supporters of Stanfield and Roberts gathered.

Brian Stanfield is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at John A. Logan College in Carterville, Illinois. His research interests include the history of American thought, especially Emerson and the Transcendentalists, and process philosophy.
