In the aftermath of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a conservative political activist, Redemption Church hosted a memorial service at Tower Square in Marion on Sept. 14 at 5 p.m.
An estimated crowd of more than 1,000 gathered for the event. Both the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion Police Department provided security.
The ceremony included a message from Pastor Robby Smith of Redemption in Johnston City, open baptisms, and a candlelit prayer for Kirk and the impact his death has had on the country. More than 60 people were baptized during the 90-minute service.
