More than a dozen area high schools visited John A. Logan College for STEM Day on Thursday, where students explored science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on experiments and activities. One of the highlights was the “Pumpkin Chunkin’” challenge, where teams built and launched pumpkins using homemade catapults to test their designs for distance and accuracy. The event gave students an opportunity to experience college-level labs, meet instructors, and see how STEM skills connect to real-world careers.
