Cold third quarter sinks Lady Vols in 54-39 loss at Mineral Area

The John A. Logan College women’s basketball team dropped a 54-39 road decision to Mineral Area College on Tuesday night in Park Hills, Mo., falling to 3-2 on the season. The Cardinals led 17-8 after one quarter and 26-19 at the half, then used a 12-4 third quarter to build a 38-23 advantage that Logan could not overcome. Mineral Area’s Lamiya Gooden led all players with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while PJ Reutzel added 10 points and eight boards. John A. Logan, now 3-2 overall and 1-2 in road games, will look to bounce back Saturday, Nov. 24, at Three Rivers College in Missouri.
