Bryce Nevils didn’t just swipe a bag Saturday. He stole a run. The John A. Logan outfielder stole home in a decisive third inning as the Vols turned early momentum into a 12-2 win over South Suburban College Feb. 21, 2026, in Carterville.
Kameron Yearsley set the tone in the first with a two-run home run, and Logan never let up, scoring in five of seven innings while racking up 15 hits and five stolen bases. Hayden Bernreuter drove in a run during the three-run third, Bryer Arview added a sacrifice fly RBI, and Nevils’ steal of home capped the inning as Logan stretched the lead to 5-1.

The Vols kept adding on. Logan scored twice in the fourth and put the game out of reach with a four-run fifth, highlighted by Arview’s RBI single, Hayden Bates’ RBI fielder’s choice and Christophe Alexander’s RBI double. Jaeger Solis added an RBI single in the seventh to close the scoring.
Jude Farley led the offense at 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Bernreuter finished 2-for-2 with two runs, an RBI and a walk, and Justin Lang went 2-for-3 with a run. On the mound, Trent Kulig earned the win, striking out four over two innings, and Logan’s five pitchers combined for nine strikeouts as the Vols held South Suburban to six hits.
